Welcome to CAT’s 40th Anniversary Event web page!
While public transportation in the area dates back to the Civil War era, Capital Area Transit was incorporated in 1973 by Cumberland and Dauphin Counties and the City of Harrisburg to provide transit services to citizens in the capital region. Today CAT conveniently and safely serves about 4 million fixed-route and paratransit riders a year.
CAT is celebrating its 40th year of public service with a series of events beginning April 10th.
Seen above is the CAT 40th Anniversary commemorative logo which will soon appear on CAT buses around the region. A series of rider events are planned through the end of the year and more information will be posted on this web page periodically.
