SERVICE ALERT – Third Street Reopening (Routes 3, 3/6, 7, AB and W)

Due to the completion of road paving along 3rd Street, the following route alignment changes will take place, effective Monday, November 11th:

* Route 3 – Detour lifted fully; service returning to normal routing along 3rd Street in both directions.

* Route 3/6 Night Loop – Detour lifted with route alignment modifications. Service returning to normal routing along 3rd Street in inbound direction.  Outbound direction service will also return to 3rd Street between Walnut and Forster Streets; but the detour between Forster & Reily Streets (traveling from 3rd Street, to Forster Street to 6th Street) will become new, permanent routing.

* Route 7 – Route alignment modification.  The current Route 7 outbound detour for Capitol Complex trips using Commonwealth Avenue will remain in effect until further notice.

* Route AB – Due to the streetscaping project along 3rd Street, CAT buses will no longer be able to make turns on/off of 3rd Street at either Reily or Maclay Streets.

As a result, the current detour for the Route AB along 4th Street, Reily Street, 6th Street and Forster Street shall become the permanent routing.  The timepoints listed on the public schedule have been updated to reflect these changes.

Flags stops will remain in effect along 4th Street until permanent stops can be determined and bus stop signage is installed.

* Route W – Due to the streetscaping project along 3rd Street, CAT buses will no longer be able to make turns on/off of 3rd Street at either Reily or Maclay Streets.

As a result, the current detour for the Route W along 4th Street, Reily Street, 6th Street and Forster Street shall become the permanent routing.  The timepoints listed on the public schedule have been updated to reflect these changes.

Flags stops will remain in effect along 4th Street until permanent stops can be determined and bus stop signage is installed.
