Persons with Disabilities Program Qualifications
To participate in this program you must complete an eligibility and registration form. These forms are available from the Shared Ride Program Offices in Harrisburg or Elizabethville. There must be written documentation that you are a person with a disability.
You will be notified of your eligibility to participate in the PwD Program. After you receive notification of eligibility, you will be able to make reservations for trips by calling the scheduling offices at the numbers listed.
If you require an escort or personal care attendant, that person must be identified prior to the trip to ride for free.
Cost of the Trip
The Reduced Fare charged by the PwD Program will be based upon the length of the trip. The minimum PwD co-pay is $3.50 for a trip of 3.9 miles or less. The fares are mileage based and the most expensive trip has a PwD co-pay of $4.50.
Pick Up/Drop-Off Window
Cat Share-A-Ride, like many similar services, operates on the basis of a “window” for pick-ups, defined as 15 minutes before or after the scheduled pick-up time. That means you need to be ready 15 minutes before your pick-up time. We consider a trip on time if the driver arrives 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
