(Harrisburg) — Capital Area Transit (CAT) reports interruptions in service to key routes and trips in recent days, according to Bill Jones, CAT General Manager.
“Approximately 26% of our fixed-route driver workforce was absent today alone, and replacement drivers were unavailable. It is disappointing that this is forcing the cancellation and rescheduling of prime trips daily which impacts CAT’s loyal customers,” Jones added
“We are closely monitoring the situation and if the current trend continues, we will finalize our plan to immediately remedy the service interruptions,” he said.
“CAT cannot permit continued interruption to the essential transit services we provide to approximately 2.7 million fixed-route riders annually in Cumberland and Dauphin Counties and Pennsylvania’s state capital,” Jones said.
